New LiDAR Laser Scanner to Advance Applus+ UAV Drone Capabilities

Applus+ has recently acquired a new state-of-the-art UAV based LiDAR Laser Scanner, advancing the capability of our industrial grade UAV drone systems.
LiDAR scanning allows for highly accurate 3D models to be processed and produced in a fast, efficient and reliable manner. This means important insights can be gained by engineers, designers, asset managers and land owners at a more on-demand timeframe than ever before.
Using the LiDAR scanner and high resolution RGB cameras at the same time also allows for an accurate model to be colourised with RGB data to produce photorealistic 3d models, DTM/DEM and mesh files. Applus+ UAV have already completed several client missions including vegetation clearance monitoring for powerline corridors, environmental vegetation growth monitoring and as-built 3D models for civil construction and oil and gas sectors.
